Fotogalerie Friedrichshain is Berlin’s oldest communal photo gallery. When it was founded in 1985, it was the first gallery in the GDR devoted exclusively to the medium of photography. It is still located at Helsingforser Platz 1 in Friedrichshain, not far from Warschauer Straße S-Bahnhof, and has been operated by the Kulturring in Berlin since 2002. The focus is on socially documentary, committed photography.

In 2020, the gallery celebrated ist thirtyfive anniversary with a major review of ist work to date. The gallery was shaped by a large number of photographers.

The exhibition is open from 19th March to 30th April 2021. Further information can be found on the website of Friedrichshain Fotogallerie.
